If We Could Remember

It's all dark and warm and I seem to float

I try to make noise but not a sound from my throat

It's so quiet except I can hear muffled moans

So I listen harder and hear distant groans

I haven't a clue as to where I may be

With my eyes wide open but yet I can't see

Space is limited, I can hardly move

Below my head I can feel a small groove

Where am I, if I only knew

No place to look, or peek for a view

And then there's that thump, thump, thump

I've been here for months, it's becoming a dump

Then there's a shudder which caused my distraction

I thought I heard someone say, she's had a contraction

Then things really shook and I started to slide

Something told me to hang on for one wild ride

The groove opened to what looked like a tunnel

And I felt like I was being squeezed through a funnel

I started to scare and consider the fright

But could see as I slid a little bit of light

Further I moved and felt such great motion

Things rocked, I heard voices, oh what a commotion

I heard someone shout she's beginning to crown

Then tremendous light and I was hung upside down

I was slapped on my bum and started to cry

Then saw a women with a tear in her eye

The place I just came from was bloody and torn

Oh my god, I think I was just born
