I sit at night and face the screen

and wonder who is out there

I type these words and send them off

Hoping to make friends in the void



We use technology to enhance our lives

with Email, Chat Rooms, IM and such

Longing to connect with another soul

Doing much the same as we are



If we connect it can be good

and happiness may result

Between two beings that are in search

For another to bond in friendship



For friendship is the holy grail

And we all search for it in some way

if fortunate we cultivate a few

Which makes our lives all the better
