The Meeting

I looked into her eyes, and she smiled across the room.

My heart felt like a flower that started to bloom.

I walked to her slowly, not noticing her flaws,

Continued my pace with no need to pause

There is something about her that makes me know,

That a relationship I would like, one that would grow.

I could tell right away, she's the one for which I've searched.

This woman, on a pedestal, is where she should be perched.

As we got close I smiled, and reached for her hand,

Noticed on her finger that there wasn't a band.

Things were looking better, and I hoped we had a chance.

The music was playing slow, so I asked for a dance.

We held each other close, smelling the fragrance of her hair.

She was so lovely that I couldn't help myself but stare.

The most beautiful woman in the room, she was to me,

With my arms around her for all the world to see.

I knew at that instant, she was the only one for me.

Then noticed her eyes that were bluer than the sea.

Together we danced, and talked well into the night.

Now I know and believe in, "love at first sight".
