Our Rose

Folder:
2002 Poetry

Our Rose is a most beautiful flower,

with a beauty that should never sour.

Unfortunately our own human race,

came and started killing this place.

Once, this world was all lush and green,

with the oceans and lakes crystal clean.

Along came us humans and nature shook.

We saw what we had, then took and took.

Now the water is polluted,

and our resources diluted.

The rain Forrest is dying,

with it's rapists still lying.

We have a hole in the ozone,

causing problems that are full blown.

Frogs showing beginnings of mutation,

our world showing signs of castration.

The time has come to change our ways,

and our behavior we better fully appraise.

Cause if we ignore and continue to doze,

we may be the ones to sour the Rose

Author's Notes/Comments:

Don't let our Rose wither and decay

For it will be to our dismay.
