Each New Day

Folder:
2002 Poetry

The skies are dark and the day is dreary.

Sometimes it's tough to get out of bed.

Shake it off and be bright and cheery,

Otherwise you'd wish you were dead.

Look at life new, each morn as you rise,

Finding ways to brighten your day.

Treat it as though it's a brand new prize,

Which you can mold as you would like clay.

It's up to you to face each dawn with a smile.

No one wants to hear you complain or whine.

Brighten up your life and display a little style,

Showing you can make your own sunshine.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I just read something someplace about having to make your own sunshine and sounded like it should be in a poem.  Now it is.
