Footsteps of Yesterday  - (a cento)

Twilight douses land
with somber shadows,
as otherworldly naiveté
misses the cue.
I see the footsteps of yesterday
right here in the every day
of my tomorrow;
Tormented in the twisted shadows,
the clock marks
the beginning of the end.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Cento

In poetry, a cento is a work wholly composed of verses or passages taken from other authors; only disposed in a new form or order. Always make sure to credit each poet you choose to use. Often lines take on a whole new meaning and the stringing together of multiple poems can be a real challenge.
