I never meant to fall in love,
not after last time,
I was not seeking it,
I didn't ask my heart to soar like a dove.
This was never meant to cause so much pain,
This wasn't about me and you,
Yet it hurts as i watch you slip away,
like water down the drain,
With every breath i now take,
I see your face and wish,
i had not left you,
standing there, to let your heart break.
