I listen to him breathe

Whilst his head be upon my chest

I ask "What are you doing?" sleepily

He holds me closer and says

"I'm listening to your heart beat"

I move my hand to his cheek

And sum up my eternal devotion

To him in 3 words and he drifts

Off to sleep...

Yet I stay awake and

Watch the light cast by

The moon on his face

And thank God for I now have

Heaven in human form
