With everything I've done

Nothing could have prepared me
For the road that lay ahead

We saw life in a different light
But somehow we lasted and
Everything seemed to be alright
As time went on, so did we
Our views on things reacted differently
With the things we hoped, with our future ahead
Nothing ended up quite like we said
And now as much as it hurts
For what I thought was to be
I take one step for man
