The Difference of Prayer
Yesterday was an awful day,
Nothing seemed to work out right,
Chaos met me everywhere,
The world seemed dark, not bright.
The cat got sick on my new bed,
My child was sent home from school,
The electric bill I forgot to pay,
The dog jumped in the neighbors pool.
I found out my mother is sick,
How much more of this can I take?
I'm expected to bear it all.
There are only so many smiles I can fake!
So today, Lord, I come to you,
I should have been here all along,
Here on bended knee with a humble heart,
I ask you to step in where I am not strong.
The cat is still very sick,
But the vet made me laugh out loud,
My child is back where he should be.
There is a light behind every cloud.
The dog chewed his rope again,
But with the neighbor I was able to talk,
She's never met you before, Lord,
I got to share my Christian walk.
My mom will be sick a long time,
But I got to pray with her at lunch,
You'll protect us both I know,
Your presence I felt through every crunch!
What a difference in a day,
When my life begins in prayer,
Troubles do not disappear,
But I can face them,
Knowing for me,
You do care!
