Being Poetic

My Poems My poetic dream seems to be coming true,
Which is to be able to stand in front of you
and show you what it means to be poetic.
Connected with a mental vision
I incision words of desire
Projecting vocally
While it's your attention I inspire.
I was hired by On Point Production
about a month prior to me being here standing
they were seeking talented people to be in their show
being on point is what they were demanding.
Now here was my chance
to enhance my poetic skills
To get in front of a crowd and speak out loud
Sounded to me like a cool deal.
A fund raiser for Tri-Boro
I had agreed to participate
In helping those that would help me
if it was my life that was at stake.
So I was asked to create
three new poems for you for this evening,
with "When in Rome" as the theme
our main purpose is giving not receiving.
On Point introduced me to the Mic
cause in my skills they were believing.
Allowed me to come here and rehearse
verse after verse
until they fealt I too was On Point with mine,
If I messed on one line
I took it from the top
To reassure them that me being here tonight
a mistake
it is not.
And to anyone out there that just can't seem to get it,
To me it's all about Being Poetic.
