The trees were losing their color, all the leaves were falling down to the ground which was almost dead, heavy clouds building up from the west were coming soon, so they had little time. It was a time for no hope and sorrow, so the rabbit and the squirrel were looking for some food, so they could survive a little longer this miserable era, they couldn’t believe that the world would end, so they will fight till the end.

There it was a buzzard flying around, looking for his own food when he saw the rabbit and the squirrel, they were an easy prey, so little, so vulnerable, it couldn’t take long for him to hunt them. But why don’t make chase fun? The buzzard though, so he approach them to talk.

“Now then, why in the world would a little squirrel and a rabbit walk in this lonely area?, you should take benefit of the little time you have left”

“We are not giving up” the rabbit said “this is the time we will stay together and struggle all we need to survive”

“Well, well, I´m gonna make you an offer you can´t refuse … what if I tell you that I have the power to make the whole world change if you pass one simple test… if you win, the trees and forest are going to give food and protection again, everything will be reborn. But if you lose, I can do what ever I want with you”

The rabbit and squirrel saw this as an opportunity to change their fate, even thou they knew the disadvantage they had and that they were putting everything at risk they accepted the buzzard challenge.

The buzzard challenged the rabbit and the squirrel into a race to the top of the volcano Monte Olimpo. It was an easy task for the buzzard; he had the advantage that he could fly. The rabbit and the squirrel knew that it would take the buzzard a day to go to the top and for them it would take them at least three days.

But what the buzzard wasn’t counting on was that the rabbit and the squirrel knew the volcano better than him.

Finally it was the challenge, the buzzard was extremely confident. A night before the squirrel and the rabbit talked about the secret passage to the north of the volcano that helps you reach the top in half a day. So they hurry up to the secret passage while the buzzard was flying to the top of Monte Olimpo. Three hours later they reach the secret passage and it was close, there had been an eruption a week before the race and cover the passage completely. They didn’t want to give up but apparently everything was lost including their lives.
Suddenly the squirrel was hit with a rock in the head, the squirrel look around and realize that a small geyser push the rock.
“Oh my god we can win!” said the rabbit
“No we are lost, there´s no way to reach the top, the buzzard is almost there”
“Remember the big geyser in which we use to play?”
“Yes, we can put a big rock over it and get launch to the top of Monte Olimpo” said the squirrel.
The buzzard was celebrating 50 meters before winning when suddenly the rabbit and the squirrel landed over Monte Olimpo.
A black darkness cover the buzzard, the volcano started to disappear, beautiful vegetation start growing, new animals were born, lakes start appearing and the sky turned into a flashing blue color.

And this is how the world began as we know it.
