Places In The Heart
Today's filled with her,
thoughts of unconditional feel
my smile in the comfort of coming home
joy in her eyes as she waits to pounce
ecstatic kisses raining in small licks
warm and cradled
in precious share.
I miss all of that
missing her so much
emptiness
taking the place of a big fill.
Yesterday still lingers,
thoughts of morning cuddles
daylight hours soaking in the sun
evening snacks and chasing bears
slipping under the covers at 4am,
snuggling soft crevices
inside the heart of
"Daddy Loves His Baby Girl"
Tomorrow will be a little easier
I know she doesn't hurt anymore,
and as I sit here writing this
missing her
I'm lost in missing you,
stilled in the silence of thoughts
knowing heaven holds comfort for her
and breathes in the genuine pour of us
