I sit; watching, mesmerized, wondering “am I sane?”
Failing to perceive intricacies of thoughts and functions of my brain
Yet I continue to pursue the carnage without refrain
Tell me said the bird in the raincoat on the window sill
What makes you sit and contemplate your fate until your ill?
Look at me, free to fly to soar to ride the wind until I get my fill
I float free with eddies and currents I go where I will!
Sedentary and sedate, I contemplate. I ruminate.
I only perceive the muddle which
Is my thoughts, my memories: my fate
The barrier is so thick as the china wall is long
I endeavor to add one more brick with the left hand
As I remove one with the right hand
The final cry is loudest even though it is silent
