I might be a snowflake
and you might be the tree
that catches me
saves me from the ground
I might melt and when I do
I might melt right into your bark
into your core
and your roots
That may be the case
I might be the dirt
that swallows up
the downpour
that might be you
I might be the center of the earth
the heated core
and you might be the oceans deep
That lay themselves all over me
You might be every pond
and every lake, river, and stream
and I might be the fish
swimming through you
unable to cope with the dry shore
You might be a window
bravely seperating the warm bedroom
from the elements
and I might be the child
with his face and hands pressed up against it
staring at the moon
hoping I could do the same for you
And that moon
may also be you
and I may be the waves
pulled towards you with desire
for all eternity
But this is something bigger
then gravity or soil
This is more impressive than all the land and seas
This is proof itself
that right here on this very earth
heaven can be seen.
