thoroughfare going home was deafening
vehicles beeped like they own the streets
i, overtaken by fear off a sudden hush,
stood to see the gains of the situation
cynical thoughts were masticating my vigor
seizing me like a half lighted candle
i need to draw my attention to other
otherwise i will lose my temper
as the cab continued to wheel forward and
toward the ingress of another dismal reality
I looked up and saw a twinkling star instead
of a blistering sun in the middle of the day
yet somehow the sun was shinning through
though still troubled, we’ll get by
