let the date pass by
for i shall only be alone
to brave the cold moon
let the time go unnoticed
in that cacophonous
midnight hum
where leaves will creak
through the arctic breeze’s kiss
and where moths shall not cease
from playing near the heat
before a candlelit
i would hold a goblet of champagne
and would stand by the windowpane
i shall let the night fly by
for a distant love, i won't cry
there will be a toast
for us to hold--sooner, i hope
