LET ME COUNT YOUR WAYS TO THE EGRESS

First, I saw you with another girl

Second, I heard that she’s now pregnant

Third, she arranged an appointment for us

Fourth, shall I accept or not?

Fifth, my friends always say

Sixth, you don’t deserve a guy like him

Seventh, if I heed my heart and play deaf ears

Eighth, to ruin she and her baby will be

Ninth, I don’t just reckon what I feel

Tenth, there’s someone out there who needs you more than me

Eleventh, this is all I have to say

Twelfth, get back to her and love her just the same

Thirteenth, damn you, it is she you must be with

ALL WE HAD ARE JUST NOW WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE

I like this, but felt that sixth should have read, "He doesn't deserve a girl like you" for if they were friends they wouldn't have said "You don't deserve a guy like him"
other than that I find it was from the heart, and that is how poetry should come from.

Lola:

Nice job with this "heartache" poem. Whether real or imagined, I felt these words were very heartfelt and honest. I loved your format. Very imaginative and stream of consciousness. Keep up the good work!
