SKETCHING FDR

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

he strolled through life
with no real charms
all his own
he dabbled in facades
working doubly hard
to make friends of his
class mates and peers
as he stumbled at
boarding school
to live until he was grown
among the adults
he'd stood out as special
so well read and sincere
he lifted ideas
here and there
with his pieced together
jobs of title
they slowly built to become
his patch work career
always looking back
how would this or that
title bode well a future
he longed to secure
one distant day for himself
tidbits of notions
as to what a man
was suppose to be
he fostered and spoke of
often
he made for the world
a glorious composite
and he lead with
a calmly charged sanity
a political genius full of
life and unwavering hope
biographers would later
label him
was easy to see
after the storm passed from
his distant presidency
but a near dozen years before
what life long calamity
befell the stately manhood
he had before relied upon
stricken down at 39 he was
with debilitating polio
a usual child's disease
one he faced with a smile
and extremely hard and
uncertain work
likely plowing through
the pain and terror
with astounding fortitude
in gradual degrees
he infused into a fearful world
the very heart of his positivity
projecting himself as a man of
and for the people
elected so to save the new
world from tragic economic
ruin
Father, leader , uncle, boss
and America's prodigal son
all in one physically stricken down
but politically self built up as a savvy man
the greatest president of the 20nth
century
Franklin Delano Roosevelt
America's admiration for him even to
this very day
stands higher than the loveliest most
cumulous clouds observed by any naked
eye on the sunniest of days......
