a veiled envy unfolds
the persona of the American citizen
gets tarnished even as it's sketched
by a great many others with an over idealistic
gold tone
so many misperceptions
distant views so utterly distorted through
the culture of the outsider countries' own
opposing self truths
sometimes biased and belligerent
albeit misguided from years of the local
newscaster's twisted tirades of big brother
hatred and fear
and then you have the free American woman
too often nearly demonized and portrayed as a sexually deviant
forceful wanton let loose on the mostly conservative world
projected by their narrow standards as a
nymphomaniac collecting lovers like young ones
would face book friends in night club like tawdry events
when in stark reality a minority of young people behave
in just this way and often grow up to be much more modest
and conservative citizens as this is just a right of passage
sort of phase
but do remember that everything that is done openly in the US
to some degree is done in some form or another in secret
in every other country
while Americans over all are perceived as the wholly undeserving
elite and privileged
quite arrogant too and loud, vastly classless and prejudicial
that they may appear yet those sort in any country on earth are
the first offenders one chooses to point out and or see
for they add credence to any accuser's plea
but just beneath those half truth labels
when peeled back just a little bit
you see all the less intimidating others
with big, caring hearts so full of generosity and patriotism
by deeply held Christian beliefs that we truly are our
brother's keeper
look to all the countries America has fought, defeated, even
lost to and then in the humane aftermath helped to rebuild
and later called them friends
the list is astonishingly lengthy
America like any other country has her bully tactics and will
gladly use them to further the betterment of her people's
interests
that is a universal right to any country's sovereignty
The World's Police Force is not a label wholly incongruent
to who she is
America always roots for the underdog and steps in to stand up
to his bullies to help to defend him when he is wrongfully being
trampled upon by his neighboring others I.E. Europe in the second
world war, South Korea in the 1950's, Serbia in the middle Nineties,
Kuwait in the first Gulf war to name a somewhat modern few
Democracy America holds dear and the right to have it anywhere
in the world by any group of people who want it
for she knows from personal tragic history that true freedom is
never free and it comes at a terribly high cost of blood and
treasure
it takes heavy sacrifices and the complete focused purpose of
an entire nation to bring about and preserve true freedom and
peace among its citizens
when major disasters occur (natural or man made) throughout
the world who's are the first feet and resources to hit that nation's
ground
The United States
Her hand she gladly reaches out to whomever is in immediate need
and friendship even to countries that see her as the enemy of all
enemies in their strongest rhetoric to their people
(am thinking of the earthquake that hit the town of Bam in Iran here)
certainly dislike or be against certain aspects of America and her policies
as you will for that is your individual right
but do be fair, look at her history broadly not just a few events that favor
some negative view
for if you make an accurate list
you'd see her good points far outweigh her bad many times over
and it's that nine times out of ten that makes her that
Shining House On A Hill that former president Ronald Reagan so beautifully
penned once in a speech for all the world to hear
America is not just a country of strong laws and many personal freedoms
she in many ways is a beacon for the world and a hope for a better way of life
she is the lone super power the land others look up to
she will be the quintessential pin up poster that future immigrants fondly gaze upon
and dream
for she is always the land of the free and the home of the brave but also
just as much the heart of the all accepting.....................
