SUNSHINE SUZIE BLUE SHOES

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

she was such a truly beautiful
little girl
we called her
'Sunshine Suzie Blue Shoes'
due in part to a bright pair of
worn blue sneakers she always
liked to wear
she had a smile that could spread
light wide across the entire world
with so very much sweetness left
in her to spare
an ethereal child she was
so utterly warm, chatty and pure
abundantly blessed with the glow
of unspoiled innocence
a priceless gift to anyone she came
in contact with
she exited this world far, far sooner
than anyone expected
never witnessing her own adulthood
even for a single day
a highly valued recall likely from Heaven
but to those lives she touched
an awfully tough re-correction
all is God's decision only though
so gradually we came around in our
own hearts to accept
I was alright over all amid the center of
her passing
for I knew she had returned back to her
true home
and that her impact upon this particular
soul would be everlasting..........

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this about a little girl I once knew many years ago who lived in our neighborhood. She was very sweet and talkative and one day she was just gone. I had heard through the grapevine that she had been a very sick little girl for a very long time and she died from her disease.  I believe she had some kind of cancer but I have vague memories of her and how sweet and talkative and curious she was about everything. She was just a pleasure to meet and know. I'd not thought about her in years not until that moniker a neighbor lady gave to her came to me then the old memories began to surface.  It's hard to believe but I bet she has been dead close to 40 years now.  Suzie was not even her name, I, for the life of me, can't recall her real name I just recalled that adorable happy nick name she was given. Similar to little miss suzie sunshine I'm sure many have heard that one. The neighbor lady changed it to sunshine suzie blue shoes due to those shoes she loved to wear and her ever present bubbly happy personality. I think she was so happy as she knew she was sick and loved getting out and getting to talk to people and interact with them . That I suppose was better than being stuck in a hospital for months with tubes stuck in you. Anyway, It felt so good and right to remember her. Enjoy.........
