my heart caught in an
unthatched net of such disbelief
and yet mercy listens with her
and yet mercy listens with her
sensitive ears
mystery in this case
stills the curtain
and I am not permitted to
see beyond this moment
such fear daunts me
in a variety of features
arguments incur
explosive tempers erupt
as disagreements find themselves
further fueled
how so brilliantly you withdrew your
love from me
and I am left
hollowed out
gutted
an empty vessel
of the woman I was before
and even though I can no longer
be that woman I was before today
I can still remember and grieve her
undeserved heartbreak
I sometimes wonder how you manage
to walk around
that man I once thought I knew so well
knowing you've destroyed something that
was so very beautiful inside me
everything you have done has gone against
the man you once claimed to be
and that is what I struggle to reconcile with
to this very day
I miss the you I thought I knew so well
and want to slap the you that you have
so cruelly become
the liar
the cheat
and the insensitive heart breaker..........
