I never fully understood the circumstance
perhaps young meets old
as opportunity meets need
such savage disregard even sexual pull
cannot impede
in the musky embarrassed aftermath
amid all our crude jokes amongst ourselves
and snickers
I felt I needed a shower at the end of the day
to help me wash off the grime, the pity and the
disbelief
what makes two polar opposites make such foul
and embarrassing decisions
he, I believe it was the rampage of drugs
lowering his already infinitesimal inhibitions wall
but she?
her murky motives I cannot quite even yet conceive
a lonely cougar perhaps
or a menopausal woman
in fear of her sexuality's natural demise
while still so terribly confusing
to ponder
the moment though shocking
displayed some teachable points
to follow
bad decisions only beget more bad decisions
and an incident has ramifications for
even the after the fact witnesses to digest...............

Author's Notes/Comments:
At my job two unlikely co workers the rest of us learned had sex on the job in the back room. It was shocking and a bit embarrassing to have to be told that. The boy was 21 and high on drugs the woman in her early 50's and a grandmother. His reasoning could be understood he was out of his mind cranked up on drugs she, it made no real sense her poor judgment and she even told the boss it was indeed consentual so that made it all the more shocking as he was hardly some young Brad Pitt and she sure was no Mrs. Robinson. I just put it out of my mind and choose to not really react to comments from other employees when they wish to bring up that subject again and again. I just brush off whatever they say as I find it all in very poor taste. The boy was fired for stealing something there after and the woman quit a few hours after her shift was over. The boy was off the clock and came back the woman was still on the clock and working. Anyway, I write about many things. Some may see this poem in poor taste but when I'm upset, confused or angry about something I tend to write it out of my system. Writing many times no matter how unappetizing the subject matter does seem to help me a good deal. Please excuse the graphic nature of the context.
