DISTANT MELODIES

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

Crape Myrtle wreaths
upon my wrist you twine
as sparks of sweet fire
your eyes lovingly
for me design
afternoon's eve
has waltzed quietly by
among all those stars now
we glide just you and me
as Sir Orion in his sky
vies for my enamored eye
though his twinkling majesty
fills my rapt gaze
still my voluminous thoughts rest
ever upon the fine cut
of your masculine shoulders'
fluid sway
the moonlight is smiling
amid the shower frenzy
of stars over our heads
a damp dew field of
gay lovers partaking
in the 'Distant Melodies'
sings via our voices
to the summer dandelions
long since gone to bed
their blankets of yellow
lovingly carpet
our trip happy feet
with my cheek to yours
you whisper
Marry me....................
