where hast thou gone in such
vaporous bequeathing
tide mills mark ponds
with their dishonest repeating
lone adventurer stumble back
miss not the moment
your sleeves were meant to meet
daring is not the bender of will
daring is he
who lives beyond such pain's
humility still
tread ghostly a foot graveyard's
edge to the sea
captives all to the widows of
thee
fold thine coat and bear up the brunt
of this demon you wish to escape
mercy is not in the tidal crest
but in the will of the heart to
forget the foul fractures of the past
and live above old anguishes
out living the death for which
your ailing mind today seeks
step back
walk on
meet the sunlight as she breaks
the clouds so gloomily overhead
tomorrow is yours
though it doesn't this day feel it
realize even yet
the past is long ago dead.............
