'I Have To Ponder'
how one mortal man
can claim to know
what is in other people's hearts
God gave no such gift to
any mortal man
I read so much judgment in this poem
I sadly muse
over the age old warning one far greater
than us all
loosely translated
'as ye judges, ye shall be judged'
I pray this postulating scribe
can live up to his own judgment of others
I adore the writer of such words but
cringe when he judges others and questions
their faith without any individual's proof
to condemn the random masses he views
and sits down to pen and paper to debase
with his claims
certainly God knows who the people he claims
are
but I dare say the writer does not
he assumes
and to assume is a dangerous hobby to take
up, my grandmother always said
so I must challenge this said sir
until such scribe has the ability to read
others' minds, hearts and souls
and can further prove it beyond a doubt
thus so
such poetry writ
is but speculation scattered upon the heads
of many he cannot have the means to truthfully
claim superior knowledge of their said lives
for until you walk a mile in each those worshipers' shoes
The has not the right to stand in God's place to judge
the depth of their faith, praise or spiritual dedication
for as ye speaks, another might stand as well to make the same
claim about your own pious self in a crowd of another day 's
worshipers' come some other Friday
and if he but did so and you learned of this
you know you would be highly upset that he should
judge you without knowing your heart through and through
for as Jesus said ,He Who Hath No Sin Cast The First Stone
and you sir being a mortal man should set down his stones
and walk away from such high and mighty claims of
supposed knowing..................
