redemption
baubles of society
few even recognize
the real value of
crimes committed
from trinkets
stolen
that these same seekers of
such empty world materials
come to see as gems
strong arm robberies
foolishly gamed
justice via injustice
at rotating intervals
opportunities squandered
or never discovered
misery in multiple layers
stained
leaving carnage
through the cracks
to repeatedly fall
some children
many young adults
lastly cleaned up
by the surprising
shuffling in
of older women
and men
throw away lives
I've heard
social workers and
parole officers alike
sadly condemn
bitter lost reflections
they must look
back at
to warn
again and again
so much waste
of human potential
and likely because
nobody cared enough
to foster and or example
for them
a good life citizen
often
so, so often
loving strong parentage
plays the role of
'Mentor And Zen'............
