THE POETRY ARCH

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

unflinching focus
such fabulous flair
with passions preserved
how will the value of
the verse be measured
by the template of one's words
history is such a sweet marauder
the poet carves his view
with little rock to spare
but too much chisel
and the effort is swallowed
whole in dusty text
long now forgotten
even by those
long since dead
it is the choice and romantic
intention of the reader
that
rigorously revives
the beauty of the word
poetry for some
is but a vague memory
before never heard
but when introduced
the reader, himself
takes on the beauty
and feel of the verse
adopting such lovely
to live with him in his soul
and sometimes
in that glorious realm of
meter and rhyme
washing through
the vibrancy that lives within
through but a few wounded
shattered hearts
'The Poetry Arch'
is forged
and that once beauty
behind the thought
flows to live again
in other eyes
other minds
other hearts
and best of all
in other enchanted memories'
of lovers who live within
those very same words
again
and
again
scripted proof lies
in the tomes of
Shakespeare's
factious flowing verse
through the five
passionate centuries
they've traversed
from each spirit
through heart
his verse
revitalizes
reminding the reader
that love is
the strongest foe
over any sin..............

Author's Notes/Comments:

was thinking about how even today some still read poetry or most anything sometimes that was written hundreds of years ago and then I thought look at Shakespeare today he is more famous in the last 200 years then he ever was in his life time. Those thoughts were the catalyst and fuel for this poem...........enjoy.
