BETWEEN TWO DREAMS (yours and mine) #

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

as stealth as utter perfection
I lay myself down beside you
the stillness cocooned
our bodies sweetly
in the quiet peace
of our layered oneness
you relaxed
your heart suspected
I was there
but your body slumbered on
happy to be draped
by the soft warmth of
my silken arms
as the horizon spat back
at the receding night
dawn tore me from your
brave heart's bed
I gently drifted
back to where forth
I'd come
a poignant dream
I'd had of thee
laying on a mussed coverlet
sleeping fitfully
like a prince about to
send his troops into war
whispering softly
forgive me my love
for my sudden abandonment..........
