YOUR HEART'S TENDEREST GREED

Folder:
JOURNAL # 41

the low rumble
of your breath
in my mind's
forged memory
is all I hear
the heat of your gaze
in the thrash of
fortunate recline
whispers to my flesh
there is no honesty
between us
more clear
than the arch of
mutually beloved
casual entwine
the truth grows stronger
in every moment
as providence's wisdom
tells me
not to fear tomorrow
for she holds her head up
a mile high
until even I
cannot deny her the right
to her pride
I just wish she would turn
her face a little more my way
and call me to her side
I have to rely on me
even as I see that
timeless trust in your eyes
the world is a gathering coverlet
for such tides of need
as
I am the most trusted chamber
for 'Your Heart's Tenderest Greed'..............

Author's Notes/Comments:

written for nobody in particular was feeling a bunch of shuttered up feelings and this poem spilled out. It was sweet and gentle like a welcome summer rain so I was glad for its unexpected arrival. Sometimes, as you know, poems come like this....................Enjoy!
