'My Turmoil Speaks Softly To Me Today'
my eyes are aching to read your words
others words seem so empty
to my mind's costume of play
for they come not from you
I think of you there alone
but I know that
that is an illusion of sorts too
for where you are now love's beauty is
all around you
still mentally you are so often with me
in perfect spiritual alignment
the thought of tomorrow
is always glorious
for me
as from its passing
one more day is checked off
of my solitary journey
to where you are
as Josh Groban sings
for me
a mere breath away 's
not far
to where you are............

Author's Notes/Comments:

I found this old poem surprisingly near finished in my email drafts today and decided to read over it and dust it off. I was surprised of its content as I did not realize I had had such thought of a man who died some 8 plus years prior to the writing of this and would have sworn I had worked through that pain of his loss about 3 or so years prior to the writing of this poem. I couldn't just leave this to languish incomplete in my drafts and so I brought it forward and polished it up. I've no idea why I was so down that particular day and leaned back on his old memories for comfort and renewed longing but I did and so here is the poem in its entirety. I only added a couple more words to complete it and corrected a hand full of misspellings. I also left the date from the draft it came across as for 98 percent of the poem it was completed on that day. Enjoy!
