though you didn't know it
I held you in the harem
of my thoughts
and would not let you leave
for three delicious days
it was a scrumptious affair
I must confess
one well worth noting
indicative of praise
visions packed their punch
but the libation I had was
cleverly clear
temptation, she threw out all
her reasons
as blessings whispered
into my oh so receptive ears
it was the simple,
the unplanned,
the so sweetly shared pleasures
that are the ones that adhere
to my mind so tenderly still
living so fully in those little moments
with you
times others themselves would pay
little or no attention to
like the way the wind
so silkily picked up your hair
your perfect Grecian profile at a
casual pose near the street
corner's fair
the mimicry and enchantment
in your laugh
spiced only further by
the intimacy of your smile
when you captured my eyes
in a roguish glance
you trapped me with your own
knowing look for a while
in all those perfect prior moments
when you privately had me
captured upon your lap
beneath the shade of the
rented patio's view
gurgling now as I am
basking in
the secret, sensuous beauty
of that unforgettable
collection of uninhibited
lovers' afternoons
I gladly hand you my heart
as you steal for me a swath
of some brightly colored balloons
as a very precious thief indeed
to me you are
more magnetic your pull can be
than the sea by the commanding
presence of the moon................
