Japan's Third Darkest Day

Folder:
JOURNAL # 40

I stared at my television
in gaping disbelief
it felt like my eyes were
peaking into the eyes of hell
a once lovely bustling city
teaming with life
was reduced to rubble and
mangled death
in a torrent of terrifying moments
Mother Nature can turn into a monster
with but the flick of her hand
and in such action
the human population
is squashed like an ant hill
Did they see it coming
and freeze in paralyzing fear
or was it so quick that they were
swiftly taken into the glorious halls
of Heaven in a blessed rush
thankful their crossing over was swift
I can only pray that this was to be so
and that all those who are remaining
will emerge from this very real human
nightmare
all the more stronger for what they
have had to endure
May God's glorious peace ever
be upon them
those still living of course
as well as those who are dead.............amen

Author's Notes/Comments:

This title I chose believing that this natural disaster stands behind Hiroshima and Nagasaki as they were much more devastating and took a far larger human toll than this natural one did. Plus when natural disasters happen, One must accept that as a natural occurrence and there is nobody really to blame but when it's a deliberate attack that is far different and far more devastating on the humans left remaining.
