where forth from
what damage done
comes
that unwanted seedling of
hurt
Tolle tells us
in these forms we
are but egos
walking around
shrouded by
Pain bodies
and from that
such mentioned hurt
indeed must come
we are more than
those said
wounded bodies
protecting higher
functioning brains
upon this cold unnatural
plane of blind interaction
with each other
it's our souls that peak out
from behind the
great thick walls of flesh
and noisy thought
baring our injured entrails
for the majority to
step on and or
choose to embrace
is it fatalistic
(thanks to free will)   
 that we do this
or mere compartments of
the frightened ego
lashing out
trying yet again
to deny its death
and survive
the eventual ending
it knows will take place
in some moments
sheer and utter madness
we must seem to one
another
and yet the flickering
enlightenment
that is each our individual
yet wholly connected soul
does prevail every now
and again
and offer us glimmers of
such selfless beauty
that prove
even to the overly terrified
ego
that we do go on
setting aside
that fear and madness
to evolve
brighter
wiser
and ever more loving
coming back
more whole
for our having farther
grown
here in all this muck and grit
of time

I am thankful for those I meet
who remind me of this
with the beauty they expose to
me of their very own knowledge,
deep awareness of self
