WHILE IN THE CHASM**

Folder:
JOURNAL # 37

this chasm
remains long
the gouges in my heart
tear deep
my troubles paint
a weary canvas
missed communication
is a butcher of hearts
by trade
and to her indifferent will
we fall slave
from the every day life
many colors have bled
without your presence
the world fragments and fades
as behind your once brightness
there can only be slim slivers of shade
a small foot bridge to you
stands steady to the hinge
of what little hope I have
a short note from your dear school friend
though a stranger to me
that you are busy and unavailable
for some time
I should not be upset
like a rock into a lake
her ripples fanned out
offering a thin band of hope
certainly
but more vagueness weaved
in the fabric of fibers being
shared
left in the dark with but a tiny
flicker of a candle
lent to me
as a talisman of sorts
to hold onto
I stand
alone
until my love can return
to make things
clear and uncluttered
between us
at a level
few others can discern.......
