a strange audience he had
me with my mouth open and
numb
and he confessing he admired
#43 but not so much 41
I gaped without his realizing it
obviously
a queer observance I was given
into the insight of this man
drilling a hole in my mouth
and chattering away like some
Georgetown magpie
I wanted to say but 41 executed
a just war with the world's approval
and involvement
and brought our boys home quickly
and for the most part alive
while 43 bullied and insulted the U.N.
as our boys got slaughtered for
no W. M.D. 's after all
but fatted up reports of
suspicions with little proof
and for his cowboy tactics
the world paid him back
in spades spewing hate for our beloved States
even Powell a long time admired public servant
by the people
disentangled himself
half way through the muck
from such an untrustworthy pack
as I drooled away beneath his hand
I pondered
how ironic
one could admire
what another found so inept and
completely ridiculous
what 2/3rds of the country
could not vote fast enough for
just so to get him out of office
sweeping out the door
as well
a near cabinet full of his
alike minded cronies
well deserved or otherwise
but then I thought
that is what makes this
country so great
that an independent voter
could sit in her Republican Dentist's
chair and be more so amused
rather than disgusted by
his narrow view of a man and party
that did many disfavors to the
United States at home
and abroad
I suppose
perhaps he was
drilling some other unknown
voter's tooth
the day the rest of the world cheered and
danced in the streets
when America elected an honorable
far more qualified man for the job
that of being the 44th leader
of the free world
and honoring at last
the long but yet fully lived up to
view of our so beloved for fathers
that yes indeed in America all men
are created equal
and nobody is above the law
even Nixon had to learn that
hard embarrassing lesson
himself, pretty quick...........................
