JANE AUSTIN'S MIND

Folder:
JOURNAL #33

dead on

but adrift

literature so genuine

sharing history

consumed by hard

and amazing circumstances

circling the reach

of plausible inter mingling

bright houses before

dappling hills

on their way from or to

lazy summer lanes

twinkling feminine laughter

sullen beauty verses

a guarded look

all just

many, many pieces

grappling together

making the family circus

strangely familiar indeed

while introducing

new side shows of questionable

neighbors and new acquaintances

all arise to stand and perform

so brilliantly

for the thankful reader

that wit o' humor

so deceptively delicious

and gregariously giddy

enchantment is born of

but a glance of stature

ere a whiff of scandal

or a turn of remarkable

event

the rocky pursuit

and rigid adherence to

timeless social codes

is well worth the prize

of a true gentleman's eye

it must have been so so lovely

living such full a life

as all those colorful characters

inhabiting

Jane Austin's mind.............
