you do not faze me

with your objectionable faux of concern

for at your uncompromising hand

many a too similar lesson

I have repeatedly been forced to learn

I am not fooled by such a cruel you nor

your distorted recollections of the past

well, not for long anyway

for memories, even those revisited so

frequently

still must serve their unwritten purpose

to please or displease

but they do not live so very long

in the mind if you so wish and nor do they

last

yet one must not forget

true revenge in the process

knows not how to as well

simultaneously appease

so this cancels out the foolish notion

that often revenge can be so sweet............
