in lectured jest
we foolishly compare ourselves
much too often to previously offered greatness
a greatness in many forms that was once all too
fondly indeed well spent
but man has continued on and in such a futile
vein to project himself to even higher aspirations
only to fall through the cracks of common sense
( a precious commodity I might add)
head first with all his fledgling good intent
and so I guess one could fairly say
that there in his own foul doubts and debt
he lay
that is until today
when this idea, pen and plight
I picked up as I went
while graciously grappling for some shard of
grievance
I was bombarded by an enraged conscience that
leveled me far below that of even the most
radicals right wing violent guide line
imprisoned am I by faithless memories of a too
well documented past
its a shame we can't sell off some of our
hurts pride
and not undermine future generation's every
attempt to leave a mark of their own
and one that for the good of all men
will hopefully last
and not be over looked like some fad
we've all out grown
so here is where all fingers must point
at a new direction of blame
so why not try
by starting with
ourselves........................
