come what follows

a madness yet confronted

bedazzled by a misguided woe

much too simply expressed

these thoughts veil forever more

Dearest Katherine

her gentle yet imposing presence

stands before my memory's sparkling eye

like that of a gloriously free

and beautiful wild hawk

taking to flight

to attain her sustenance

for the night

note that the stunned field mouse

clamped within her steely beak

must surely represent a vague idea of me

how so very quaintly singular

wouldn't you agree.................
