its almost funny

how we grow

to see ourselves

in a much more realistic light

after a certain number of years

ear marked maturity

unbeknownst to us

turns down the flame

there was a time when I believed

that every 'Now' I fully experienced

would stay with me forever

yet today

it is just not the same

ignorance

just like one's youth

is so very fleeting............sighs!
