I prefer them you know

Benny Goodman, The Carpenters and

The Bee Gees

some happy so dance able yet slow

easy on the ears but all the same

musical successes

I would have joined each fan club

if I had been old enough and known

the addresses

Benny to me seemed so very sedate

with the bluesy company of his ebony

clarinet

his talents became his inevitable fate

and I sometimes wonder what next song

would Karen have written had she not

died of starvation and cardiac arrest

would her song have been number one

and about her illness would she have

come forward to confess

where as the Bee Gees

thank God are still 'Stayin' Alive'

and strong

and I sill listen to them so much

why, I can't imagine life today without

the beauty of their song 'How Deep Is Your Love'

I'd say its very deep

in fact too deep to fully upon

touch.....................................
