if pretense were illegal

a lot of its users would likely be in jail

the image one perfects to display among his

peers

would be brought to trial as witness baring

fact

and rarely no doubt would this measure mature to

fail

everyone would be issued fair warning to discontinue

use and drop each his own veil

and stark honesty would have to bear up under

pressures in a new society

quite insistent to prevail

hence life though still somewhat brutal would

be lived to a greater though much simpler degree

and thus the angrier yet unnecessary airs of most

would become near to non existent in such an

enlightened society

that is of course if God should let it be.............
