very near to my house
the earth is now daily being raped
by such big thuggish men
in even bigger bulldozers
the unwanted witnessing of such
sad atrocity while simply just
driving by can not be escaped
the exposed and defeated bright
red clay mud
stares so angry back at me
like some dying caged animal
filled with such fear, rage and blood
such brutal devastation
only manages to make me cry
all the harder
for all those poor innocent murdered
trees
but the underdog in me shouts
you just wait
they will be quite sorely missed
one day
especially
should there happen to be
a terrible flood
all that loose red clay will unleash
its wrath on that man made parking lot
until its goodbye 'Mess Of Man's Unnecessary
Modernization'
and hello again grass and new baby trees
oh but how I just love it when Mother Nature
brings the over arrogance of man to his
trembling knees and sets him back in his so
rightful place
at her beck and call
under her inflexible thumb
able to destroy him
in mere seconds
whenever she chooses to exert her
supreme will......................
