the satirist and the saint
words I love to write
you so colorfully paint
oh such an utterly divine
creature indeed
can be
that sage of letters
the writer
as he rarely loses his
favorite place
upon many a life's
even most difficult page
dully shaped
yet
from his clever clutches
it still will likely escape
you
that being
the drift
ah
but if he could
he would
give you
every warm intention
a heart and mind could
possess
and let them all sleep
at the intellect's feet
always
sounds almost selfish
to confess
in the elaboration
of self
it is upon a fogged bank
of vague understanding
we each come to fish
'Such River Of Truth'
it matters not
whether we use our own pole
or that of another
wiser
fisherman
the most important aspect
is that of the actual fishing done.......................
