a baby is born
a new mother awaits
her life, this precious child will adorn
perhaps he will even possess a few of
Mother's traits
what apparent joy will this tiny infant
subsequently bring
as, what forms of heartache too will lace
his life, for the negative pull as we all
know effects nearly everything
where will the invisible boundaries of
balance indeed settle to lie
in the child's frequent discoveries
his feelings of self worth or his mere
ability to simply try
as the mother holds her excited breath
the doctor places the babe in trembling
arms
with a wail of obvious displeasure the
newest male to arrive in the family alarms
his first female even as he simultaneously
charms
her little man has successfully flexed his
healthy little lungs
I say, welcome to your new home little man...
