it pains me so
to see
the hardship and devastation
of war
its more than simply being scary
anymore
its near that to soul altering
such vile Balkan use of human
extermination
unfolds so miserably before us
nightly on our far removed
television screens
though regardless of how utterly
obscene
still such heartless acts of endless
violence
almost make laugh less light of the
further horrors that are yet left in
stone
its evil incarnate
so wicked and disturbed
obviously
in their fractured outlook
must be the viciously Serbian
death regimes
oh, to see those frightened young
children run and cry
towards mothers who are they know not
where
and the brittle and old so dirty, dazed
and feeble
forced
so cruelly out of doors
to trudge for numberless miles
upon cold forbidding ground
with the scent of pending death
at every turn
as they make their perilous way through
warn torn valleys, cities and streets
the like
leaving behind what little hope they had
left in them to spare
their homes systematically destroyed
their very lives so carelessly brutalized
their national status as a country at such
grave risk
that it hangs in an uncertain precarious
balance
depending on the out come
of a series of unforseeable events
why so soon in the late 20th century
and one of such stellar advancement
in technology are we again going through
such vulgarity such as this
has nobody for even a moment learned
did Hitler's vain atrocities not teach
were Hussein's horrendously heinous acts
so recently aimed at his very own people
not clearly enough shown to us
just how far one man's evil bent on greed
for more and more power can reach
such lessons should have been a real eye
opening peach
but NO
such blatant disregard for the value of
human life
makes me ill
its almost a given
along with this sickeningly common
distancing
everyone seems to be doing
from such a once brutal world view
of the not so distant past
talk about a lack of hindsight
indeed
Europe couldn't be more so shamed
why, the Serbs themselves should adopt
the Nazi name
since so very parallel has become this uncanny
bridge of wide spread
devastation, blood shed and moral outrage
though the thoughts of one angry woman
can do so very little
still please note
that every night without fail
along side the ever faithful constant prayers
for these displaced and abused people that
remain ever lodged in my troubled soul
I reverently say
There but for the grace of God my indifferent
and some angry friends, go you or I
never forget this
those of you who think we have no business being
over there
for many, though it is far too often not believed
a human life is after all a human life
it should not matter
what the person's nationality, religion or ethnic
background is
for
on a higher far more important plane
we are all brothers and sisters
you would be most wise to remember this
my dear murder loving Milosovich...........
