break so softly
so that I shall not hear nor feel your pain
quiver only so controllably
then others shall not know
my otherwise unapparent shame
lie quietly within my constricted breast
the quietest you can be
when only He walks past
speak to me just so softly
tell me this sharp stabbing inside
won't murder me nor last
weep freely if you must
but only with tears that all
too quickly dry
answer for me if you can
all my frantic howling
questions of why
control warm lips that only
manage to tremble before the image
of love who sees no obvious longing
grieve for this lament love's soon
ending death
and cast promise within me
to reach out to another heart
for where which it is belonging..........
