with eyes looking seaward

swerving and swooping

in and out of the sunlight's rays

soaring in vengeful threat

with such precision and great purpose

darting with abundant grace

deep beneath the foam

grim determination

so very focused on

the populated waters below

low and bullet like

soon charges the clever angler's beak

as spasmodically dislodged midstream

becomes the inhabitant of such airless

plenty

for the unsuspecting prey

such beauty to behold

brings only brutal death

but for the victor

this tireless hunter gull

means reward

for his careful calculation

skill and perfectly executed dive

so for that

I say

Bravo
