a good beautiful woman was she
though damaged
and with baggage
the loveliest of all butterflies
fluttering in a jar
the world's prize and princess
the comet that became a star
poise and good breeding
absorbed in one refreshing breath
not so gallant courters
deliberately walked away
with valuable pieces of her generous
nature in their pockets
vultures!
that fed off her heart
while the surrounding paparazzi
stood by or chased their prey in
salivating glee
'til such vultures scattered so that
they then too could gather to feed off
all the pain in her that was left
their appetites insatiable
disgusting
was the whole pathetic business
I wonder just who lived in her
fish bowl life
that gave more to her
rather than tried to rip strips from her
as future souvenirs to possibly sell
or tidbits of her life to crow over
proudly
I think about this often
now that she's been gone from us
these last four and a half years
and ponder over just what she herself
might say to all this
if she were here
likely only her children
but surely there must have been some
of unrealized others
the world seems a little colder
without her warm blue light of tender
empathy
but she reigns ever proudest
I believe in her role as mother
now rest easy ever more
bright beloved ferry
you will always be
'The Sweetest Blessing Shared'
the world's own beloved immortal
the fairest true to life princess
of all truth, goodness and warmth
